The "Pyramids" at Port-Coton, 1886
In winter 1886, Monet wrote from Brittany to Durand-Ruel:
"The sea is unbelievebly beautiful and they are the most outlandish rocks
[...] I am filled with enthusiasm for this eerie area, because it forces me
to go beyond what i usually do. I have to admit I find it very difficult to convey the forebodding,
terrifying aspect of it".
